A special message from Derek Jeter

Hey Yankee fans, as you all know, this is going to be my last year playing in the major leagues.  I have enjoyed the last twenty years, especially with the great support from all of you.  It has been a pretty amazing ride, from winning five World Series Championships for our great city to representing the team at the All-Star game 13 times.  This season isn’t over yet though, so lets keep the support up and go for number 28 for the city.  You, the fans, have always had my back and always cheered for me in the good times and the bad.

I hope that through the rest of the season we can continue to get your support and also get more fans on board with the Yankees through our various social media sites and our team website.  Make sure to keep up with myself and the rest of the team on Twitter and Facebook.  We look forward to responding to your comments and questions throughout the rest of the season.  We are also planning on some video question and answer session with you guys.  Make sure you keep an eye out for that as well.

Come out to the stadium and cheer us on and as you use social media throughout the game, we will post some of your comments on the jumbotron behind center field.  We are also planning on running a few contests before the end of the season, and who knows, you might even get a chance to interview me one on one.  Lets keep this season alive with the help of all of you and we hope to see you at the ballpark soon.  Everyone in for #28.

Thanks everyone,

Derek Jeter
